Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Facilitate the deployment and operation of services within FedRAMP High-aligned environments.

• Collaborate with compliance platforms and partners to enable secure deployment workflows, implement controls, gather evidence, and ensure operational readiness.

• Assist in meeting security and compliance requirements for defense, government, and regulated clients.

• Convert compliance obligations into actionable engineering tasks.

• Design, deploy, manage, and support cloud infrastructure utilizing AWS and AWS GovCloud.

• Develop and sustain infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code, with a primary focus on Terraform.

• Manage Kubernetes-based services and Helm-based deployment workflows across various environments.

• Enhance the reliability, observability, access controls, operational runbooks, and supportability of platform systems.

• Assist in regular release operations across multiple environments.

• Maintain and refine Helm charts, deployment pipelines, CI/CD workflows, and operational automation.

• Create and update runbooks, operational documentation, and escalation procedures for regulated deployments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Infrastructure Engineering, Security Engineering, or similar positions.

• Proven capability to independently manage complex infrastructure or operations projects from design through to production support.

• Practical experience operating production infrastructure in AWS.

• Direct experience owning Infrastructure-as-Code, ideally with Terraform.

• Practical experience managing Kubernetes-based workloads and Helm-based deployments.

• Strong grasp of cloud security fundamentals.

• Experience supporting production systems, incident response, operational runbooks, release processes, and post-incident reviews.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly for technical documentation, operational procedures, risk assessments, and compliance evidence.
