Staff Platform Engineer, AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain software applications within our suite of enterprise software solutions.

• Collaborate with product managers and designers to generate innovative solutions for unique challenges.

• Partner with AI engineers to effectively leverage commercial large language model (LLM) APIs.

• Consistently enhance code quality, extensibility, scalability, and test coverage across software projects.

• Make architectural and cloud-engineering decisions alongside other engineers.

• Design and enhance infrastructure-as-code stacks, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring/observability tools.

• Optimize internal developer tools, workflows, and best practices to boost team productivity.

• Provide ongoing feedback to management about team quality, the current state of the tech stack, and stakeholder relationships.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate issues throughout the application stack.

• Guide and mentor junior team members.

• Engage in incident response and disaster recovery initiatives.

• Utilize AI-assisted tools to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and support daily operations.

• Other responsibilities as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• At least 8 years of professional experience as a software engineer.

• Minimum of 3 years in a technical lead, architectural lead, or management position.

• Proficient in Python for core application development.

• Experience in creating modern, cloud-native applications utilizing serverless technology (API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, or similar).

• Passion for developing enterprise software with a strong focus on customer needs, taking pride in fostering a world-class end-to-end user experience.

• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, teamwork, and communication abilities.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and tools.

• Expertise in utilizing relevant AI Tools in the SDLC (Cursor, GitHub Copilot), coding, and/or API integrations.

• Comprehensive understanding of:

  • Version control systems (Git)
  • Relational databases and data modeling (Postgres preferred)
  • Infrastructure as Code in AWS (CloudFormation, SAM)
  • RESTful API design and documentation
  • CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or similar
  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker, ECS)
  • Enterprise-scale cloud engineering in AWS
  • Modern software development lifecycle in an agile product team
