This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Deliver technical assistance to both business and manufacturing operations.
• Assess, choose, and implement standard engineering practices, procedures, and criteria while exercising judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications.
• Offer project management support throughout the organization as needs arise with various projects.
• Participate in the creation of business and/or capital plans.
• Provide actionable recommendations grounded in solid engineering judgment.
• Oversee multiple capital and maintenance projects, encompassing initial planning, design, documentation, budgeting, execution, and troubleshooting.
• Required to produce drawings, specifications, and instructions necessary to communicate project requirements to others.
• Committed to fostering a safe work environment. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all project designs, and conduct thorough hazard reviews prior to installation. Responsible for overseeing safety during the implementation phases.
• Coordinate and oversee work scopes with external contractors and engineering teams on projects of varying sizes.
• Ensure projects remain within budget and adhere to timelines.
• Prepare reports and deliver presentations based on thorough analysis of information and written materials.
• Capable of organizing, planning, and working independently as well as collaboratively within a team with minimal supervision.
• Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology from an accredited institution. Other degrees may be considered with significant experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time and ability to reside anywhere in the lower 48 states with convenient access to reliable air travel.
• Over 5 years of experience in an industrial paper and/or corrugating setting or in a design engineering role.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence and persuade effectively.
• Exceptional organizational and planning abilities.
• Proficient in collaborating with consulting engineers, local utility providers, and local regulatory authorities.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and AutoCAD (or similar software).
