Staff Engineer – Data & AI Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• You will lead architectural and technical initiatives by promoting scalable architectures and fostering long-term technical enhancements across various teams.

• You will assist engineers directly in the design and implementation of high-quality services, distributed systems, and data pipelines.

• You will work in close collaboration with Product, Engineering, Data, and other Staff Engineers to ensure alignment on architectural decisions and technical direction.

• You will assess and incorporate AI technologies that enhance systems, processes, or product functionalities with measurable benefits.

• You will facilitate responsible AI adoption by establishing best practices, guidelines, and reusable patterns throughout the engineering team.

• You will mentor engineers and promote cross-team alignment while simplifying processes and enhancing consistency across engineering.

⛳️ Requirements

• You are currently working as a Staff Engineer and have an impact at the departmental level, beyond just your immediate team.

• You possess extensive experience in modern software engineering and distributed systems.

• You demonstrate strong architectural thinking and can unify teams and stakeholders around technical decisions.

• You have substantial experience with event-driven systems, microservices, and AWS-based architectures.

• You are knowledgeable about data warehouse concepts, data modeling, data governance, data pipelines, and data quality frameworks.

• You have a solid grasp of AI concepts, including LLMs, embeddings, vector search, agents, and automation patterns.

• You have experience in integrating AI capabilities into existing systems or workflows and evaluating feasibility, risk, and impact.

• You communicate fluently in English; proficiency in German is an advantage.
