Staff Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and execution of architectures for distributed systems that ensure high availability.

• Execute proofs of concept (POCs) and prototypes to confirm both technical and business hypotheses.

• Act as an architectural authority and technical advisor for various teams.

• Provide mentorship to senior engineers in the areas of design and architecture.

• Convert vague requirements into concrete technical solutions.

• Detect and resolve issues related to performance, reliability, and security.

• Spearhead modernization initiatives and the migration of legacy systems.

• Investigate and implement new practices in generative AI.

• Contribute to the creation of architectural documentation (ADRs) and best engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Systems Analysis and Development, Information Systems, or other IT-related disciplines.

• Proven experience in software engineering.

• Background in designing distributed systems and high-availability architectures.

• Proficiency in Java for backend development and architecture.

• Familiarity with AWS or GCP in production settings.

• Experience serving as a technical reference with influence across multiple squads.

• Knowledge of observability practices, including structured logs, metrics, and tracing.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.

• Exposure to GenAI, LLMs, or agent frameworks such as LangChain and CrewAI.

• Functional expertise in Python for automation and prototype development is advantageous.

• Proficiency in TypeScript for full-stack development.

• Understanding of event-driven architecture, including technologies like Kafka and RabbitMQ.

• Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event Storming, and the C4 model.

• Contributions to open-source projects.

• Knowledge of security aspects in distributed systems.
