This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Taking ownership of the most intricate and uncertain challenges across product and platform, instilling structure, clarity, and momentum where the way forward is not yet apparent.
• Influencing technical and product direction collaboratively by helping to define practical approaches, effectively sequencing tasks, and guiding roadmaps through sound engineering judgment.
• Facilitating cross-team alignment and execution on initiatives that span multiple squads.
• Enhancing the effectiveness of fellow engineers through technical leadership, decision-making support, hands-on problem-solving, and clear communication throughout the delivery process.
• Elevating the overall system by identifying opportunities in architecture, reliability, and developer experience.
• Proficiency in backend development is essential. You have built and managed production backend systems, APIs, data models, and distributed services relied upon by real customers.
• You have experience across the entire stack. You’ve successfully delivered full-stack features from start to finish and are confident in doing so again.
• You shape systems beyond individual squads. You have made architectural decisions with a future-oriented perspective, balancing scalability, maintainability, and practicality.
• You take responsibility for outcomes rather than just completing tasks. You can highlight achievements you have personally influenced, not merely what you have delivered.
• You have experience working in constrained environments. Whether in a startup, high-stakes initiative, or developing a greenfield system under tight deadlines, you have successfully navigated real ambiguity.
• You interact directly with customers. You have engaged with users and allowed their feedback to inform your developments.
• You create leverage throughout the organization. You mentor others, set examples, and help remove obstacles.
• You possess strong communication and technical leadership skills. You convey information clearly to engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Remote-first working environment - please note you must have the right to work in the UK/EU without sponsorship to be considered for this role.
• Competitive salary based on experience.
• Meaningful equity; at Nory, everyone is an owner!
• 35 days of paid leave per year (including bank holidays).
• Comprehensive private health insurance through Irish Life (Ireland) and Axa (UK).
• Enhanced parental leave and support for baby loss.
• Learning & development culture – €1000 personal annual budget plus quarterly book budget.
• €250 home office workspace budget.
• Regular team offsites and social events.
• Flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 3 months of the year.
• Offices located in London, Dublin, or Spain.
