This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Take ownership of significant projects from inception to completion, including technical design, implementation, and rollout.

• Establish the technical vision for the healthcare data platform and member management solution.

• Shape the culture and strategic direction of the technical organization.

• Utilize technical expertise to enhance development practices, particularly in AI-assisted development.

• Elevate engineering standards, processes, and code quality within the team.

• Provide mentorship to engineers and act as a technical authority.

• Work collaboratively with Product teams during product inceptions, architecture evaluations, and roadmap prioritization.

• Produce high-quality code through methodologies such as TDD, pair programming, code review, static analysis, and documented best practices.

• Over 10 years of experience in software engineering.

• Proven history of managing significant projects from the design phase to delivery.

• Expertise in both Ruby and Rust programming languages.

• Familiarity with Ruby on Rails APIs and Rust/Axum-based services.

• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining production-level APIs.

• Skilled in designing, constructing, and sustaining large-scale data pipelines.

• Strong emphasis on software development craftsmanship and consistently delivering high-quality code.

• Sound technical judgment and an appreciation for effective utilization of AI-assisted development tools.

• Ability to thrive in highly collaborative engineering environments.

• Clear and positive communication skills.

• Preference for candidates with knowledge of the American health insurance and healthcare ecosystem, particularly for those based in the U.S.
