
Staff Engineer β AI Product Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
β’ Lead the creation and ongoing enhancement of AI-driven functionalities, utilizing LLMs and voice technologies across various communication platforms.
β’ Design, develop, and manage scalable systems on GCP, employing React for the frontend and serverless Node.js / Express services in the backend β all implemented in TypeScript.
β’ Shape and refine AI capabilities by iterating on prompts, evaluations, and system behavior to ensure consistent, high-quality user experiences.
β’ Drive architectural decisions and establish engineering standards to guarantee long-term scalability, maintainability, and performance.
β’ Assume complete ownership of features β from defining scope and technical design to delivery, monitoring, and iterative improvements based on real user feedback.
β’ Enhance developer experience by advancing tools, workflows, and code quality (e.g., refactoring, AI-assisted development, testing methodologies) within your team and across the engineering organization.
β’ Mentor and assist engineers through collaborative engagement, code reviews, and knowledge sharing, functioning in an individual contributor capacity without formal management duties.
β’ Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to convert user requirements and business objectives into effective technical solutions.
β’ Stay informed about advancements in AI (LLMs, voice, multimodal systems, and agents) and translate new capabilities into production-ready features.
β’ Accept accountability for technical outcomes, ensuring high quality, reliability, and timely delivery.
β’ Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a proven history of technical leadership.
β’ Extensive experience with TypeScript, including advanced patterns and best practices.
β’ In-depth AI knowledge and market awareness (real-time voice, multimodality, LLM integration, and evaluations).
β’ Expert-level familiarity with modern, AI-enhanced engineering tools and workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
β’ Strong cloud experience (such as GCP or AWS / Azure) with infrastructure design capabilities.
β’ Solid software engineering background with expertise in system design.
β’ Significant experience in teaching, advocating for technology choices, and mentoring both teams and individuals.
β’ Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to align business and technical stakeholders.
β’ Experience leading technical initiatives and facilitating organizational change.
β’ Language proficiency: English at C1 level is mandatory; German is a plus but not required.
