This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Lead the creation and ongoing enhancement of AI-driven functionalities, utilizing LLMs and voice technologies across various communication platforms.

β€’ Design, develop, and manage scalable systems on GCP, employing React for the frontend and serverless Node.js / Express services in the backend β€” all implemented in TypeScript.

β€’ Mentor and assist engineers through collaborative engagement, code reviews, and knowledge sharing, functioning in an individual contributor capacity without formal management duties.

β€’ Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to convert user requirements and business objectives into effective technical solutions.

β€’ Stay informed about advancements in AI (LLMs, voice, multimodal systems, and agents) and translate new capabilities into production-ready features.

β€’ Accept accountability for technical outcomes, ensuring high quality, reliability, and timely delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

β€’ Over 5 years of software engineering experience with a proven history of technical leadership.

β€’ Extensive experience with TypeScript, including advanced patterns and best practices.

β€’ In-depth AI knowledge and market awareness (real-time voice, multimodality, LLM integration, and evaluations).

β€’ Expert-level familiarity with modern, AI-enhanced engineering tools and workflows (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).

β€’ Strong cloud experience (such as GCP or AWS / Azure) with infrastructure design capabilities.

β€’ Solid software engineering background with expertise in system design.

β€’ Significant experience in teaching, advocating for technology choices, and mentoring both teams and individuals.

β€’ Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to align business and technical stakeholders.

β€’ Experience leading technical initiatives and facilitating organizational change.

β€’ Language proficiency: English at C1 level is mandatory; German is a plus but not required.

🏝️ Benefits

β€’ Team Spirit: We are fueled by passion, commitment, and a shared mission. Team spirit is important to us β€” and we showcase it with four major team event weeks each year, casual monthly gatherings both on-site and remotely, and a strong recognition culture that celebrates both significant and small successes together.

β€’ Ownership: You are encouraged to take ownership from the very first day. In a flat hierarchy and high-trust environment, you are empowered to make impactful decisions and drive meaningful change.

β€’ Learning & Growth: We prioritize your personal and professional development through a robust feedback culture, a €1,500 annual learning budget, 2 dedicated education days in addition to your vacation, and targeted enablement formats. Our aim is to help you realize your full potential.

β€’ AI Enablement: Our internal tools and workflows are intentionally AI-enabled. We assist every team member in leveraging AI at an advanced level in their daily tasks, including providing your own ChatGPT+ license.

β€’ Tech & Tooling: You will receive a MacBook, premium headphones, and all necessary resources β€” from hardware to software tools β€” to excel in your daily responsibilities.

β€’ Flexibility: Work fully remote within Germany while maintaining close connections with the team. We gather in Hamburg at least once per quarter to collaborate, connect, and celebrate in person β€” and for some roles, even more frequently (e.g., monthly), depending on the team structure and scope. Additionally, if you seek a change of scenery, working from abroad for up to 2 months per year is always an option.

β€’ Recharge: To ensure you have ample time to rest, we offer 30 vacation days annually (based on a 5-day workweek) plus December 24th off. We also subsidize your Urban Sports Club membership and organize internal sports meetups.

β€’ Mobility: You can lease a "JobRad" (bike) and receive a subsidized "Deutschlandticket" or "BahnCard" for public transport to support your commuting needs.

β€’ International Environment: We are becoming increasingly international each month, with team members already in Italy, France, the Netherlands, and Austria β€” which is why English serves as our internal company language.
