Staff Engineer, Ads Business Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish and lead the technical strategy for business identity, governance, permissions, and organizational management systems that cater to both customer-oriented and internal Reddit platforms.

• Oversee large-scale cross-functional projects from inception through design, implementation, and launch, while ensuring maximum quality and performance.

• Possess a strong product intuition and conduct customer interviews, transforming data and user feedback into features that guide the team’s roadmap.

• Mentor engineers and leaders, disseminate industry knowledge, and contribute to the team's technical development.

• Clarify complex challenges, align stakeholders with varying priorities, and prioritize aggressively to ensure effective execution.

• Capable of making system-level enhancements, improvements, and executing complex code modifications.

• Collaborate closely with engineering teams and stakeholders to promote the adoption of Business Manager and Business Hub capabilities throughout Reddit, shaping a cohesive business identity, governance, permissions, and organizational framework utilized by various products and teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of software engineering experience in building production services at scale.

• Experience within the ads domain.

• Previous role as a Tech Lead or a similar position.

• Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with a service-oriented team and organization.

• Proven experience in coordinating large-scale, cross-functional initiatives that involve multiple teams, driving alignment among diverse stakeholders.

• Expertise in addressing complex system scaling and latency performance challenges.

• Strong proficiency with one or more AI tools throughout the development cycle.

• Strong skills in one or more programming languages: Go, Python; along with experience in service frameworks (gRPC/Thrift) and API design.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, data modeling, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka/PubSub).
