Staff Developer, Identity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Contribute to the design, development, and reliability of the core identity systems that support 1Password.

• Shape our technical strategy to ensure it aligns with the overall goals of the company.

• Collaborate closely with various teams throughout the organization to implement identity systems.

• Design and enhance identity services that facilitate secure access across all 1Password products.

• Create scalable systems focused on authentication, authorization, federation, session management, and policy enforcement.

• Write high-quality code with an emphasis on reliability, durability, and maintainability.

• Promote best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and operational readiness.

• Provide mentorship to engineers at different stages of their career development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in developing resilient and reliable software systems.

• In-depth expertise in Go programming.

• Comprehensive understanding of authentication, authorization, and identity concepts (OAuth, OIDC, scoped access, policy enforcement).

• At least 5 years of practical experience in identity and access management.

• Demonstrated ability to lead identity strategy and mentor cross-functional teams with exceptional communication skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proven experience in defining and executing technical roadmaps.

• Extensive knowledge in distributed systems, system architecture, and product development in a cross-functional setting.

• Proven track record of leading technical discussions and driving architectural decisions.

• History of enhancing quality standards through testing, observability, operational excellence, and secure development practices.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for navigating complex technical challenges.

• A thirst for knowledge and a commitment to staying updated with evolving identity standards and emerging technologies.
