Staff Data Scientist, Machine Learning – Epidemiology and Patient Data Products

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.

📋 Description

• Oversee the creation of machine learning (ML) methodologies and the analysis of patient data.

• Conduct project-specific hands-on analysis and modeling of high-dimensional longitudinal real-world data.

• Assist in the design, execution, and assessment of cutting-edge machine learning techniques.

• Break down complex challenges into manageable components.

• Engage in code reviews and provide consistent progress updates on tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• MS, MPH, or PhD in health data science, biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline with 5 years of experience in developing and applying ML techniques.

• Extensive experience in creating and deploying machine learning solutions within healthcare databases, including EHRs, administrative claims, and patient registries.

• Knowledge of U.S. and international medical coding ontologies and data models (ICD, ATC, LOINC, SNOMED, CPT, HCPCS, OMOP, etc.).

• Broad expertise in core ML paradigms (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, semi-supervised).

• Strong understanding of essential elements of the ML development lifecycle.

• Proficient in Python and contemporary data science tools (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch, statsmodels, SciPy, MLlib, MLflow).

• Outstanding time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and consistently deliver products on schedule.
