This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the architecture and technical roadmap for the core data infrastructure on AWS, encompassing ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving layers.
• Create, construct, and maintain dependable batch and near-real-time pipelines with defined SLAs and observability.
• Structure supply chain data from external ERP systems into a cohesive, reusable warehouse model.
• Spearhead the migration of legacy data assets to align with the warehouse model.
• Optimize performance and cost across Postgres and Snowflake, focusing on query plans, indexing, partitioning, warehouse sizing, and storage strategies.
• Set engineering standards for data projects, which include testing, code reviews, CI/CD, data quality checks, and documentation.
• Guide engineers through design reviews, collaborative work, and technical feedback.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to transform ambiguous inquiries into sustainable data models.
• Oversee governance for sensitive data, which includes lineage, access controls, retention, auditability, and de-identification.
• Over 8 years of experience in data or software engineering, including substantial ownership of systems in production.
• Proficient in SQL at an expert level, including complex analytical queries and query-plan analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Python for production data tasks, pipeline code, transformation logic, testing, and tooling.
• Extensive experience with relational databases, focusing on schema design, normalization trade-offs, transactions, and performance tuning.
• Practical experience with data pipeline and orchestration tools such as Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, dbt, Fivetran, Spark, or Kafka.
• Experience managing data workloads on AWS, including services like S3, RDS, Lambda, or ECS.
• Knowledge of cost, security, and networking considerations in AWS data workloads.
• Proven history of leading multi-quarter, cross-team initiatives.
• Experience with healthcare data, HIPAA, PHI, de-identification, and audit requirements (preferred).
• Familiarity with supply chain data from ERP systems like Oracle, Workday, or Lawson (preferred).
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and deployment automation (preferred).
• Experience with streaming, event-driven architectures, or data quality and observability tools (preferred).
• Must possess authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
