Staff Commodity Business Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Oversee strategic sourcing initiatives to guarantee a consistent supply for production and new product introductions (NPI).

• Monitor expenditure analytics, savings, and related initiatives.

• Set up and utilize sourcing tools effectively.

• Manage the complete sourcing cycle, which includes analyzing the supply base, selecting suppliers, preparing and analyzing RFPs, and developing/tracking KPIs.

• Create and execute essential commodities roadmaps.

• Negotiate supplier agreements, covering costs, terms of supply, service, and quality standards.

• Perform market assessments and select suppliers based on categories for reagents, distribution channels, plastics, packaging, and capital equipment.

• Prepare and conduct RFI/RFP processes, leading the bid analysis and evaluation.

• Assess risks and implement risk-reduction techniques to ensure business continuity and minimize reliance on sole and single sources.

• Maintain strategic sourcing connections and cultivate strong partnerships.

• Adhere to both internal and external policies, regulations, and laws.

• Comply with regulatory standards and ISO 13485.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Life Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience as a Global Sourcing leader or in a comparable role.

• In-depth knowledge in the development of commodity strategies.

• Proven experience in the implementation and execution of RFQs.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Advanced skills in collaboration and negotiation.

• Strong organizational and time management capabilities.

• Outstanding analytical and strategic thinking skills.

• Willingness to travel to establish, promote, and sustain strategic sourcing relationships.

• Capable of analyzing, preparing, and delivering presentations to management.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

• SAP knowledge is preferred.

• Experience within the Life Science industry and/or background in Reagents commodities management is preferred.
