Staff Commissions Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete commissions process across all sales channels.

• Take ownership of the design, management, and continuous enhancement of the commissions system and compensation plan configurations.

• Create and improve methods for verifying commissionable deal data.

• Resolve intricate commission discrepancies by examining data inputs, compensation rules, and system outputs.

• Lead commission-related accounting tasks, including reconciliations and accounting treatment.

• Analyze month-to-month changes in commission-related accounts.

• Develop, standardize, and maintain comprehensive workpapers and calculation methodologies.

• Identify and implement enhancements in commissions operations.

• Assist with internal and external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation.

• Act as a reliable subject matter expert for commission calculations.

• Collaborate across functions to enhance the integration of commissions administration and sales compensation operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6–10 years of experience in commissions, sales compensation, accounting, revenue operations, or related finance roles.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Profound understanding of sales compensation structures, commission processes, and administration of commission plans.

• Advanced experience with commissions systems such as CaptivateIQ or comparable tools.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles concerning commission expenses, accruals, capitalization, amortization, and financial reporting.

• Proficient Excel skills and strong analytical abilities for reconciliations, variance analysis, and complex financial workflows.

• Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder partnership skills.

• Experience in supporting audits, documenting methodologies, and upholding strong internal control practices.
