Cash Posting Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Ensures accountability for collection processes and procedures for Executive Directors and Revenue Cycle Portfolio Leaders.

• Provides temporary coverage for cash posters during short-term or unexpected absences.

• Collaborates with cluster Executive Directors and/or Revenue Cycle Portfolio Leaders to deliver training to Cash Posters.

• Develops and maintains positive, collaborative working relationships with Portfolio Billers and Collectors.

• Keeps a thorough understanding of payor contracts.

• Maintains extensive knowledge of government billing regulations, including those for Medicare and Medicaid.

• Works alongside cluster Executive Directors and/or AR Market Leaders on payor projects promptly.

• Participates in Agency BAM meetings to identify and report on Collections received.

• Reviews, researches, and posts various types of funds on a daily basis.

• Prepares cash reports and reconciles them daily.

• Resolves discrepancies by coordinating with internal teams.

• Researches and clears all unidentified cash accounts on a monthly basis.

• Manages automated payment files and addresses exceptions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of five years’ experience in cash posting.

• At least three years of experience in health care billing and collections management, ideally in home health and/or hospice operations.

• Proficiency with HCHB is mandatory.

• Familiarity with Medi-CAL is essential.

• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment effectively.

• Proven ability to manage detailed information with accuracy.

• Capable of working tactfully and collaboratively with colleagues, peers, service center personnel, referral sources, and payers.

• Exhibits ingenuity, autonomy, assertiveness, flexibility, and cooperation.
