Staff Capital Cost Estimator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Creating Class 3 and Class 4 capital cost estimates for projects involving manufacturing, warehousing, and facility expansions.

• Generating comprehensive quantity take-offs and cost analyses across various engineering fields, including equipment, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation.

• Developing, enhancing, and maintaining estimating methodologies and tools for the organization.

• Evaluating engineering drawings, specifications, scope of work documents, bid packages, and vendor/contractor quotes for precision and completeness.

• Engaging directly with business stakeholders, the design team, and project engineers to define and estimate capital projects.

• Investigating and confirming market pricing, labor rates, and equipment costs to ensure estimates are up-to-date and justifiable.

• Delivering estimates to internal stakeholders and leadership with clarity and assurance.

• Traveling to manufacturing and distribution locations (~30%) for project-specific site visits, with typical trips lasting 2–3 days.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10+ years of combined experience in engineering and cost estimating.

• Proven experience with Class 4 estimations for industrial projects.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (any discipline) or Construction Management is required.

• Practical experience with industry-standard estimating software, such as ProEst, Procore, RS Means, or similar platforms.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).

• Experience in developing Scope of Work documents and reviewing vendor approvals and contract bid packages.

• Background in project management, including the coordination of cross-functional teams.

• Must have authorization to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available for this position.
