Staff Backend Engineer – Grafana App Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Developing new features, enhancing the operational experience of the systems you create, and continuously improving them based on production feedback.

• Writing, contributing to, and reviewing design documentation.

• Taking an active role in influencing the project roadmap.

• Mentoring and assisting other team members while collaborating with various teams across the organization.

• Taking ownership of our customers' experience by participating in a weekday 12h x 5d and a separate weekend 24h x 2d on-call rotation.

⛳️ Requirements

• You possess strong coding abilities and operational experience; you have been responsible for managing the software you developed.

• You have experience working on a SaaS platform and have dealt with common challenges related to distributed systems (e.g., scalability, multi-tenancy, data isolation, high availability, etc.).

• You have exceptional communication skills, able to articulate your ideas clearly in writing and during discussions. You understand when to choose different modes of communication.

• You are open to collaboration across teams. Your work must align with the requirements of other squads and external stakeholders. You maintain transparency in your plans, engage stakeholders, and welcome feedback and suggestions.

• You are pragmatic; you prioritize progress over perfection and can navigate ambiguity.

• Our backend utilizes Golang; you should either be familiar with Golang or eager to learn the language.
