This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Develop the fundamental backend services: Design, implement, test, and manage the initial services for context ingestion, context indexing, retrieval orchestration, API access, source configuration, and system administration.
• Establish a scalable SaaS infrastructure: Assist in defining and constructing the architecture for a multi-tenant service, incorporating tenant isolation, usage tracking, quotas, audit logs, background jobs, and dependable service boundaries.
• Enhance agent-facing retrieval workflows: Create APIs and service interfaces that enable AI agents, MCP tools, CLIs, and internal applications to access pertinent context, provenance, confidence signals, and alerts.
• Collaborate across product and infrastructure: Work alongside the team to make pragmatic trade-offs between rapid experimentation and long-term reliability, particularly as the project transitions from prototype to production.
• Manage what you create: Equip services with metrics, logs, traces, alerts, and dashboards. Utilize observability tools to comprehend system behavior and enhance reliability.
• Influence technical direction: Contribute to shaping the architecture, service boundaries, storage selections, API contracts, deployment patterns, and engineering practices for a new product domain.
• Strong communication skills: You will be operating in a highly dynamic and collaborative setting, so we require someone who can communicate effectively and collaborate across teams.
• Ownership and influence: Assume complete ownership of the AI solutions you develop, ensuring they are not only innovative but also scalable, maintainable, and in alignment with actual user workflows.
• Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, and developing applications powered by GenAI.
• Demonstrated success in delivering software that has been deployed in production and is actively utilized by users.
• Experience in cloud-native environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Proficiency in using observability tools to analyze and troubleshoot system behavior.
