Senior Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Create and manage backend systems capable of processing high-throughput, asynchronous workloads (such as generation queues, worker orchestration, and media processing).

• Design for scalability and reliability — you will determine data flow, service boundaries, and strategies for handling failures.

• Develop and enhance asynchronous pipelines: including job queuing, retries, backpressure management, dead-letter handling, and all components that ensure millions of requests are processed efficiently.

• Enhance performance and reduce costs at the infrastructure level — inference can be costly, and operational efficiency is a key product feature.

• Establish technical direction and elevate the engineering standards for the team through thorough review and mentorship.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive backend experience (5+ years) with genuine ownership of production systems at scale.

• Demonstrated system design expertise — you can justify your architectural decisions with trade-offs rather than jargon.

• Practical experience with asynchronous pipelines, message queues (such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or similar), and distributed worker systems.

• Familiarity with high-concurrency and high-throughput environments.

• Capability to work autonomously in a rapid, low-process, start-up-like environment.
