Software Engineer II, Backend – Infrastructure Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop a centralized reliability command center that provides teams with a cohesive overview of system health, risk, and reliability across different services and environments.

• Design AI agents that can aid in incident triage, root-cause analysis, log/trace summarization, and suggest next steps.

• Create engaging developer-centric features and APIs that enable engineers to explore data, troubleshoot issues, and make informed decisions.

• Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, and other Copilot-like tools) to prototype, refactor, and deliver high-quality code efficiently.

• Take full ownership of projects: from requirements gathering and architecture to implementation, testing, rollout, and iterative improvements based on feedback.

• Work closely with partner teams (product, infrastructure, data, SRE) to identify pain points and translate them into simple yet effective solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• This role necessitates either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

• Strong expertise in Python, with a track record of architecting data-intensive applications and robust APIs.

• Problem-solving aptitude and product awareness: you focus on the "what" and "why," not just the "how." You can take ambiguous requirements and quickly iterate toward a viable solution.

• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Claude, or similar platforms, along with a passion for utilizing them to build and deploy features more rapidly.

• Practical experience with LLMs or AI frameworks to improve automation and guidance with appropriate guardrails and citations.
