
Staff Attorney – Farmworkers

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide free legal representation to Georgia's farmworkers facing employment-related challenges within the Farmworkers Rights Division.
• Manage cases related to unpaid wages, discrimination, human trafficking conditions, and violations of recruitment contracts.
• Partner with clients, legal teams, and community organizations to advocate for the rights and justice of farmworkers.
• Participate in outreach and educational initiatives to raise awareness among farmworkers regarding their rights and available legal resources.
• Must be a graduate of an accredited law school and a current member of the Georgia Bar.
• The ideal candidate should exhibit strong interpersonal skills and effectively address the needs of both clients and staff.
• A demonstrated commitment to social, economic, and racial justice, particularly in the realms of worker and/or immigrant rights.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences through public speaking, writing, partnership development, and community education events.
• Strong organizational abilities and the capability to manage a substantial active caseload of advocacy and litigation.
• Proficient in analyzing, writing, and presenting legal ideas and concepts clearly and succinctly.
• Willingness and demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively and professionally as part of a team.
• Outstanding writing and oral advocacy skills.
• Experience working with a diverse client population and staff is preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and access to an operable vehicle is required.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency with email, Excel, Word, SharePoint, LegalServer, and other software applications.
• Strong oral and written language skills in Spanish, including effective oral presentation capabilities. Candidates selected for an interview should anticipate that a portion of the interview will be conducted in Spanish.
• If hired prior to admission to the Georgia Bar, the position will commence as a Legal Assistant with an annualized salary of $60,000.
• Upon admission to the Georgia Bar, the salary scale ranges from $60,000 to $78,725, based on experience.
• A probationary period of 6 months applies.
