Staff Applied Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +20 more states.

📋 Description

• Establish the technical direction for core replenishment research and development.

• Analyze intricate issues such as inventory decay, promotions, price elasticity, and inventory uncertainty.

• Implement significant transformations in our core system from research to production.

• Spearhead research and development efforts for new products and business challenges.

• Guide and mentor scientists and engineers, setting standards for experimental excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• A minimum of 8 years of industry experience for MS holders; 4 years for PhD holders.

• Proven experience in researching and developing systems that facilitate large-scale decision-making under uncertainty.

• Previous experience in fields like inventory optimization, supply chain management, network optimization, forecasting, game theory, decision analysis, stochastic optimization, approximate dynamic programming, or similar areas is advantageous.

• Strong communication and presentation abilities.

• Capability to independently produce high-quality software implementations of your solutions using the Python data stack (numpy/torch/pandas/etc).
