Staff AI/ML Scientist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Create and evaluate multi-turn, state-aware conversational systems utilizing LLM reasoning loops (e.g., ReAct, Plan-and-Solve) and multi-agent orchestration frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, or custom state machines).

• Drive innovation by integrating new frameworks and the latest advancements in generative and agentic AI.

• Advocate for best practices in AI / ML while mentoring junior team members.

• Lead functional teams and initiatives to promote the adoption of Conversational AI.

• Utilize Python, MLflow, Azure stack (e.g., Azure cloud, Azure ML, Azure Data Factory), and Databricks to provide comprehensive AI solutions that develop, benchmark, and sustain AI / ML models.

• Maintain close communication with customers to assess their needs and propose solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and generate business value.

• Keep abreast of technology trends in AI and leverage this knowledge to address the key challenges facing EcoVadis.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics/Applied Math, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics).

• Over 8 years of experience in machine learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP), with a minimum of 4 years focused on Conversational AI in production settings.

• Extensive knowledge of agentic frameworks and a proven history of developing autonomous or semi-autonomous agentic systems at scale.

• Demonstrated experience in leading comprehensive AI initiatives in the industry, from design through implementation to integration, while adhering to best software development practices.

• Strong mentoring abilities and accountability for the timely and high-quality delivery of the initiatives they oversee.

• Experience collaborating across functions in the creation of AI-driven products (e.g., Engineers, Product Managers).

• Experience developing conversational interfaces in complex enterprise domains (e.g., Supply Chain, Procurement, Financial Risk) is advantageous.

• A history of peer-reviewed publications in leading NLP/AI conferences (ACL, EMNLP, NeurIPS, AAAI, KDD) is a plus.
