This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of AI-driven enhancements within core brightwheel workflows, managing the process from opportunity assessment through launch and iterative improvements.
• Deliver solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of administrators and teachers.
• Design and develop cross-functional AI services, including retrieval, context, evaluation, and guardrails, that support various product areas like classroom workflows.
• Establish shared abstractions and tools for AI, encompassing common prompt and tool patterns, logging and monitoring, as well as reusable components.
• Influence our data and system architecture to ensure AI can securely integrate longitudinal signals across product, billing, support, and operations, and offer recommendations for subsequent actions.
• Exemplify AI-enhanced engineering practices by utilizing AI to amplify your own productivity, mentoring L2/L3 engineers, and elevating our standards for designing, shipping, and managing AI-powered features.
• Over 5 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• A demonstrated history of successfully launching AI-powered products into production.
• Practical experience with large language models (LLMs) applied in real-world scenarios.
• Strong foundational knowledge in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems design.
• Proficiency in backend engineering within at least one contemporary web stack (such as Ruby on Rails, Python, Go, or Node).
• Experience in developing modern web front-ends, preferably using React or a similar component-based framework.
