This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take charge of the architecture and execution of distributed, high-scale backend systems and APIs that support machine learning models in a production environment.
• Spearhead the technical design for AI integration across various product lines, facilitating both real-time and batch inference workflows utilizing LLMs, transformers, and classification models.
• Lead the fine-tuning and deployment of pre-trained models from Hugging Face or OpenAI for critical business applications.
• Assess external AI services and weigh the options of building versus buying.
• Establish and enhance platform-wide standards for backend engineering, MLOps, model governance, and observability.
• Provide mentorship and assistance to senior and mid-level engineers across different teams and functions.
• Collaborate with product management, ML research, data engineering, and DevOps leaders to ensure alignment of technical projects with business objectives.
• Shape AI strategy and roadmap while assessing new technologies and frameworks.
• Conduct root-cause analyses and performance tuning to guarantee dependable, efficient, and scalable systems.

• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 2 years at the Staff Engineer level or equivalent.
• More than 4 years of experience in backend development using TypeScript, Node.js, and SQL-based RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• At least 1 year of experience deploying ML/AI models to production, with practical experience in fine-tuning LLMs or transformer-based models.
• In-depth knowledge of system architecture, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and scalable API design.
• Strong expertise in Data Pipeline tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, dbt, Dagster) and best practices for model deployment.
• Demonstrated leadership in establishing technical direction, mentoring engineers, and driving cross-team projects to successful completion.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
