This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the technical vision and architectural strategy for the cloud-native platform and agentic AI capabilities.
• Manage and refine the comprehensive architectural blueprint for cloud-native applications at scale, covering compute, data, networking, security, and observability layers on AWS.
• Define and advocate for agentic AI architecture patterns, including multi-agent systems, tool orchestration, memory and retrieval strategies, LLM routing, guardrails, and feedback loops.
• Convert architecture patterns into standards and reusable reference architectures.
• Establish and oversee organizational DevOps standards, encompassing CI/CD, GitOps, deployment strategies, environment parity, and release engineering.
• Design and supervise platform infrastructure, involving ECS, EKS, service mesh, API gateways, secrets management, IAM/RBAC, data stores, and multi-account/multi-region AWS topology.
• Lead architecture reviews and make authoritative technical decisions on high-risk changes.
• Define SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, logging standards, distributed tracing, capacity planning, and incident response frameworks.
• Introduce technologies via structured proofs of concept and risk assessments.
• Foster internal communities of practice around architectural patterns.
• Produce ADRs, system context diagrams, threat models, and runbooks as reliable sources of truth.
• Advise Product and Partners by translating architectural constraints and capabilities into strategic options.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers while conducting design reviews.
• B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in software engineering and systems architecture, including a minimum of 3 years in a dedicated architect or principal engineer role.
• 5+ years of AWS architecture experience at scale, including multi-account organization design, landing zone/Control Tower, VPC design, IAM governance, and cost optimization.
• Experience in architecting highly available distributed systems with at least 99.99% availability, low latency, and elastic scalability.
• Proficiency in designing agentic AI architectures, orchestration layers, and agent frameworks such as LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent, along with tool/API integration, evaluation pipelines, and operational monitoring.
• Expertise in DevOps and platform engineering with Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform/CDK, Helm, ArgoCD/Flux, CI/CD tools, and container security practices.
• Familiarity with REST, gRPC, and asynchronous event-driven API gateway patterns.
• Experience in establishing SRE practices, including SLOs, error budgets, runbooks, chaos engineering, and game days.
• Understanding of cloud security architecture, zero-trust networking, secrets management, SIEM integration, and SOC 2/ISO 27001 compliance frameworks.
• Experience with streaming pipelines including Kafka and Kinesis, data lakes, OLAP/OLTP boundary design, and caching strategies using ElastiCache or Redis.
• Proficient in presenting C4 diagrams, sequence diagrams, threat models, and ADRs.
• Experience in scaling engineering organizations through architecture standards, platform investments, and improvements in internal developer experience.
