This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee and enhance the comprehensive architectural framework for cloud-native applications at scale, encompassing compute, data, networking, security, and observability layers on AWS.
• Define and advocate for agentic AI architectural patterns, which include multi-agent systems, tool orchestration, memory and retrieval methods, LLM routing, guardrails, and feedback mechanisms.
• Convert these patterns into applicable standards and reusable reference architectures.
• Establish and enforce DevOps standards within the organization, including CI/CD pipeline design, GitOps practices, deployment strategies (blue/green, canary, progressive delivery), environment parity, and release engineering.
• Design and manage platform infrastructure, which includes ECS, Kubernetes clusters (EKS), service mesh, API gateway strategy, secrets management, IAM/RBAC governance, and data stores such as DynamoDB, Aurora RDS, Postgres, and Elastic/OpenSearch. This also encompasses multi-account/multi-region AWS topology.
• Lead architecture reviews and render critical technical decisions on high-risk changes, balancing velocity, reliability, cost, and security.
• Define SLOs/SLIs/error budgets, logging standards, distributed tracing, capacity planning, and incident response frameworks.
• Introduce new technologies via structured PoC and risk assessment processes, and foster internal communities of practice around architectural patterns.
• Generate architecture decision records (ADRs), system context diagrams, threat models, and runbooks that act as the definitive source for platform design.
• Serve as a technical advisor to Product and Partners, translating architectural constraints and capabilities into clear strategic options.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers on architectural thinking, systems design, and engineering leadership; conduct design reviews that elevate the technical standards across teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering and systems architecture, with at least 3 years in a dedicated architect or principal engineer role.
• More than 5 years of AWS architecture experience at scale, including multi-account organization design, landing zone/Control Tower, VPC design, IAM governance, and cost optimization.
• Proven experience in architecting distributed systems and services that achieve high availability (≥99.99%), low latency, and elastic scalability under fluctuating production load.
• Experience in designing agentic AI architectures, including orchestration layers, agent frameworks (LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent), tool/API integration, evaluation pipelines, and operational monitoring of AI systems.
• Proficient in DevOps and platform engineering, including Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform/CDK, Helm, ArgoCD/Flux (GitOps), GitHub Actions/Jenkins/Harness CI/CD, and container security practices.
• Familiarity with API gateway patterns (REST, gRPC, async event-driven).
• Experience implementing SRE practices, including SLO definition, error budgets, runbooks, chaos engineering, and game days.
• Understanding of cloud security architecture, including zero-trust networking, secrets management (Vault, AWS Secrets Manager), SIEM integration, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
• Background in data architecture concerns, including streaming pipelines (Kafka, Kinesis), data lakes, OLAP/OLTP boundary design, and caching strategies (ElastiCache, Redis).
• Experience in presenting architecture artifacts such as C4 diagrams, sequence diagrams, threat models, and ADRs.
• Proven experience in scaling engineering organizations through architectural standards, platform investment, and enhancements to the internal developer experience.
• Competitive compensation package and bonus plan.
• Comprehensive core benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and matching 401K.
• Flexible work environment with options to work remotely, in a hybrid model, or in-office.
• Flexible time off policies, including volunteer time off, vacation, sick leave, and 12 paid holidays.
