This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Exhibits the capability to assign transactions to the correct accounts while demonstrating a solid understanding of capitalizing assets and documenting expenses.
• Reconciles client bank accounts, including credit cards and investment accounts, using QuickBooks Online or relevant software.
• Shows expertise in all facets of Accounts Payable, encompassing the entry of vendor bills and the preparation/processing of vendor payments.
• Displays proficiency in all areas of Accounts Receivable, including the entry of client invoices, recording payments, and processing deposits.
• Prepares and inputs journal entries into the client file.
• Exhibits proficiency in preparing and processing client payroll, including making EFTPS tax payments and handling annual forms W-2, W-3, 1099, and 1096.
• Demonstrates skill in the preparation and processing of payroll tax returns (forms 940, 941, 944, and TWC) using various software applications.
• Effectively trains clients in the use of QuickBooks Online and shares best practices for maintaining their financial records.
• Shows proficiency in the preparation of Forms 1099 NEC and MISC.
• Allocates client income and expenses by utilizing class tracking and/or job costing features.
• Exhibits proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the creation and maintenance of spreadsheets for calculating the allocation of diverse client expenses.
• Maintains accuracy in preparing workpapers for review.
• Communicates effectively with clients regarding their financial records and obtains any necessary missing information.
• Reviews accounting files prepared by clients to prepare for tax filing and makes journal entries as necessary.
• Develops expertise in the preparation of Business Personal Property Tax Renditions.
• Demonstrates the ability to work with precision, efficiency, and within budget constraints while organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing tasks across multiple assignments.
• Assists in departmental training and the documentation of processes.
• Reflects the Firm’s vision and mission positively through community engagement.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field (four-year college or university) or an Accounting Certificate.
• Two to four years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Public Accounting is an advantage.
• Proficient in a Microsoft 365 environment, including keyboard, mouse, multiple monitors, laptops, copiers, scanners, and printers.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office/365 Applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Sharepoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, CCHAxcess, IDEA, CCH Document, Adobe, Depreciation Solutions, and Caseware.
