This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Exhibits the capability to accurately code transactions to the correct accounts while possessing a solid understanding of asset capitalization and expense recording.
• Reconciles client bank accounts, including credit cards and investment accounts, using QuickBooks Online or relevant software.
• Shows expertise in all facets of Accounts Payable, encompassing the entry of vendor bills and the preparation/processing of vendor payments.
• Displays proficiency in all aspects of Accounts Receivable, including the entry of client invoices, payment recording, and deposits.
• Prepares and inputs journal entries in client files.
• Demonstrates skill in preparing and processing client payroll, which includes making EFTPS tax payments and completing annual forms W-2, W-3, 1099, and 1096.
• Proficient in preparing and processing payroll tax returns (forms 940, 941, 944, and TWC) using various software applications.
• Effectively trains clients on the usage of QuickBooks Online and shares best practices for maintaining their financial records.
• Proficient in the preparation of Forms 1099 NEC and MISC.
• Allocates client income and expenses by utilizing class tracking and/or job costing features.
• Shows proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the creation and maintenance of spreadsheets for calculating various client expense allocations.
• Maintains accuracy in preparing workpapers for review.
• Engages with clients regarding their financial records and collects any missing information.
• Reviews accounting files prepared by clients to ensure readiness for tax preparation and makes necessary journal entries.
• Develops expertise in preparing Business Personal Property Tax Renditions.
• Demonstrates the ability to work accurately, efficiently, and within budget while organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing tasks involving multiple assignments.
• Assists with departmental training and the documentation of processes.
• Successfully represents the Firm’s vision and mission positively through community engagement.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field (four-year college or university) or an Accounting Certificate.
• Two to four years of relevant experience; experience in Public Accounting is a plus.
• Proficiency with a Microsoft 365 environment, including keyboard, mouse, multiple monitors, laptops, copiers, scanners, and printers.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365 Applications, such as Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, CCHAxcess, IDEA, CCH Document, Adobe, Depreciation Solutions, and Caseware.
