Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Cyprus.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of daily operational accounting for CBFSE, which includes the recording of journal entries, preparation of supporting schedules, and upkeep of balance sheet reconciliations.

• Carry out daily reconciliation reporting and other periodic regulatory submissions as mandated by CySEC, the Central Bank of Cyprus, and relevant CIF frameworks.

• Collaborate across departments with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Source-to-Pay, and engineering teams to ensure appropriate accounting practices and accurate financial reporting.

• Assist in both internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation, analysis, and prompt responses within your areas of accountability.

• Conduct data analysis against business drivers to uncover trends, address discrepancies, and suggest process enhancements to improve accounting operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF), a Big Four firm, or a financial services/fintech company.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related area, with professional qualifications (ACCA, ACA, or CPA) favored; CySEC certifications (Advanced and/or AML Certificate) are advantageous.

• Proven working knowledge of IFRS, along with practical experience applying IFRS standards to operational accounting and financial reporting.

• Expertise in NetSuite, FloQast, and G-Suite, complemented by advanced Excel skills applied to reconciliations and financial analysis.

• Understanding of CySEC and CIF regulatory reporting requirements, including the capability to interpret and implement regulatory guidance in accounting processes.

• Employs generative AI responsibly, ensuring human oversight to produce business-ready outputs and enhance workflow efficiency, cost, and quality measurably.
