Staff Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Prepare financial statements, which include balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for various real estate properties.

• Create and maintain general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and support month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations for multiple accounts and investigate any discrepancies.

• Aid in the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, encompassing variance analysis and reporting.

• Monitor and report on property-related expenses, capital expenditures, rent collections, and tenant deposits.

• Support the month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and financial reports.

• Oversee accounts payable and receivable operations, including invoice processing, payment posting, and vendor management.

• Ensure adherence to relevant financial regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

• Assist with both internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and providing relevant information.

• Identify opportunities for enhancing accounting processes and improving financial controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, ideally within real estate, property management, or investment firms.

• Proficient in real estate accounting software (such as Yardi, MRI, or RealPage), AI tools (like Claude and ChatGPT), and the Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel capabilities.

• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and real estate accounting.

• Certifications: CPA or an equivalent qualification is highly preferred.

• Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is a plus.
