Senior Accountant, Financial Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee financial and general ledger accounting independently for the Group.

• Generate monthly and annual financial statements in compliance with the German Commercial Code (HGB).

• Handle payroll processing across multiple countries, including provisions, accruals, and fixed-asset accounting.

• Accountable for the monthly advance VAT return and quarterly VAT summary.

• Serve as the main point of contact for auditors and tax advisors, coordinating tax audits and preparing tax returns.

• Work closely with the Controlling team on monthly investor reporting and assist with process improvements.

• Maintain and enhance the Accounting Manual, serving as a technical resource for the Junior Accountant.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed vocational training in commerce with a specialization in accounting—preferably as a tax clerk.

• Several years of experience in accounting.

• Extensive hands-on experience in financial accounting, including journal entries and individual financial statements.

• Strong knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) and familiarity with VAT law; expertise in IFRS is an advantage.

• Proficient in DATEV and MS Office; experience with a CPM/FP&A tool such as LucaNet, Tagetik, or Anaplan is beneficial.

• Independent and structured working style with a commitment to high-quality standards.

• Fluent in both written and spoken German and English.
