This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Efficiently manage third-party accounts, ensuring that all income, expenses, and variations in assets and liabilities are recorded on a monthly basis.
• Execute a variety of banking transactions, including wire transfers, account transfers, deposits, and other essential financial operations.
• Conduct internal audits to verify property adherence to established policies and procedures.
• Perform monthly accounting closing activities, such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reports, in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Assist in the budgeting process by drafting initial property budgets and inputting finalized budgets into the accounting system.
• Reconcile bank accounts, conduct detailed research, and prepare adjusting journal entries to correct any discrepancies.
• Organize and archive all supporting documentation.
• Supervise internal procedures to ensure the accuracy of property delinquency reports, pre-paid rent journals, security deposit ledgers, and monitor property refunds.
• Manage property cash flow, including the oversight and review of accounts payable.
• Assist in the preparation of year-end audits and tax submissions.
• Provide accurate monthly financial reports within established deadlines.
• Process requests for replacement reserve draws with the lender and facilitate necessary repair submissions.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with lender reporting requirements.
• Organize and archive documentation following company policies.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and prioritize customer service.
• Communicate effectively with clients through email, video, and phone.
• Bachelor's degree is required.
• A major in Accounting is highly preferred.
• At least 2 years of directly related property accounting experience is highly preferred.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with a focus on time management.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.
• Capable of working well under pressure, setting priorities, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
• Proficient in computer skills, including a working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel); experience with databases such as Yardi and Resman is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and reliable transportation.
