This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Support, implement, and deploy the Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
• Plan and execute software and hardware modifications agreed upon with customers.
• Evaluate user requirements and develop cost-effective technical specifications.
• Install and test SQL Server software along with associated products in collaboration with application providers.
• Assist in the implementation of new and modified systems with clients.
• Establish and uphold standard methodologies for infrastructure planning and installation.
• Create system documentation in accordance with Atos processes and standards.
• Perform development and maintenance tasks following the ITIL change management process.
• Monitor infrastructure services while identifying opportunities for improvement and preventative maintenance.
• Develop and maintain the SQL Server Warehouse.
• Ensure the security, health, performance, and operational readiness of the warehouse.
• Execute data loads and conduct data modeling for various development teams.
• Install and configure SQL Server versions from 2005 to 2017.
• Apply patches and hot fixes for SQL Server.
• Troubleshoot issues related to blocking, disk space, failed jobs, replication, and disaster recovery.
• Manage database backups, recovery, restoration, and disaster recovery plans.
• Restore databases between production and testing environments.
• Manage user access and permissions.
• Create, schedule, and troubleshoot jobs.
• Perform performance tuning using query analysis, indexes, statistics, DBCC commands, and DMVs.
• Deploy scripts in production environments.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot replication and disaster recovery processes.
• Prior experience with Microsoft SQL Server projects, including infrastructure implementation and deployment.
• Excellent understanding of SQL infrastructures, covering versions 2008 to 2019.
• Well-established experience in patching and upgrading SQL versions.
• Preferably hold an MCSE certification.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in setting up and maintaining production Microsoft SQL Server instances.
• Strong expertise in SQL Database Performance Tuning.
• Strong knowledge of SQL failover clustering, log shipping, and mirroring configuration.
• Extensive knowledge of database backup and recovery technologies, including implementation and maintenance experience.
• Good experience in setting up replication and using DTS/SSIS.
• Configuration of database monitoring using SQL native or third-party software.
• Experience with large-scale infrastructure transition and transformation projects.
• Installation and configuration of SQL Reporting Services, SQL Management Studio, and other relevant software/tools.
• Set up database backups and perform recovery as needed.
• Conduct database upgrades, migrations, and patching of existing SQL databases.
• Optimize SQL Database performance and assist application teams in tuning SQL queries.
• Automate database-related tasks.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong documentation capabilities.
• Customer and delivery-focused.
• Microsoft Certification is desirable.
• Familiarity with Oracle and DB2 LUW database technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of Windows Server configuration is desirable.
