This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Report to the Design Manager.
β’ Create comprehensive designs for automatic sprinkler systems from initial concept to construction and commissioning.
β’ Generate hydraulic calculations and ensure that system performance aligns with relevant standards and client expectations.
β’ Prepare and evaluate working drawings utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, and related design software.
β’ Ensure adherence to LPC Rules, BS EN 12845, FM Global, NFPA, and pertinent project specifications.
β’ Coordinate sprinkler designs with other building services disciplines and construction teams.
β’ Assist project teams throughout the design, installation, and handover phases.
β’ Participate in site surveys, design reviews, coordination workshops, and progress meetings.
β’ Monitor design timelines and synchronize deliverables with project schedules.
β’ Provide technical assistance to Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and installation teams.
β’ Address technical challenges and design inquiries during the construction phase.
β’ Support procurement through technical assessments and supplier interactions.
β’ Assist with design modifications and value engineering initiatives.
β’ Contribute to project cost management through effective design solutions.
β’ Prepare and maintain design records, calculations, certifications, and handover documentation.
β’ Facilitate internal and external audits related to design compliance.
β’ Demonstrated experience in designing automatic sprinkler systems within the fire protection sector.
β’ Strong understanding of LPC Rules and BS EN 12845 standards.
β’ Experience in generating hydraulic calculations.
β’ Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite.
β’ Capability to manage multiple projects and handle competing priorities effectively.
β’ Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
β’ Valid UK driving licence.
β’ LPCB Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced Design qualifications are advantageous.
β’ Familiarity with FM Global and NFPA standards is a plus.
β’ Experience with Revit/BIM is desirable.
β’ HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
β’ May be required to undergo a DBS check.
