This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +1 more state.
• Implement brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts effectively, and cultivate strong customer relationships while addressing customer needs to optimize both short and long-term sales outcomes.
• Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or surpass these goals.
• Establish pre-call plan objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to enhance sales performance continuously.
• Skillfully manage objections, misunderstandings, and concerns, consistently generating logical and actionable calls to action to close every sales interaction.
• Actively strive to meet customer needs, expectations, and challenges to foster trusted customer relationships and secure mutually beneficial agreements between AbbVie and its clients.
• Devise and implement a call plan that meets established call metrics while optimizing coverage and frequency to key customers, thereby maximizing access and sales opportunities.
• Continuously enhance understanding of customer needs and expectations, the market landscape within the territory, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease, product, clinical, and sales expertise, sharing this market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to ensure alignment, anticipate environmental changes, and refine brand strategy execution.
• Distinguish AbbVie’s value proposition with assigned healthcare providers and identify, develop, and maintain relationships with disease state experts and advocates to optimize brand performance.
• Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience is required.
• Relevant industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree requires at least five (5) years, with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, along with a high school diploma/GED.
• Possesses in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge, recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders.
• Demonstrates strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools; exhibits strategic and critical thinking skills.
• Proactively identifies customer styles and behaviors, quickly adapting to various aspects of the sales approach.
• Understands and applies insights to formulate effective sales strategies.
• Proposes innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities and address challenges.
• Contributes impactful ideas for the larger organization while anticipating and responding to changes.
• Functions effectively within a matrix environment.
• Influences others and is regarded as a credible and respected role model and resource among peers.
• Fosters collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and the matrix team.
• Demonstrates leadership by example, consistently exhibiting positive behaviors and providing peer coaching in challenging environments.
• Documented success in leadership and support roles with increased responsibility at the district, regional, and/or organizational levels.
• Preferred: A proven record of success in sales performance within relevant therapeutic areas.
• Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing is preferred.
• Proficient in English, both verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries).
