This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Implement brand strategies and tactics in the field, manage sales performance, and efficiently oversee assigned territories and targeted accounts.
• Foster robust customer relationships and enhance problem-solving capabilities to optimize both short-term and long-term sales performance, prioritizing the patient in all initiatives.
• Adhere to AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and all relevant laws and regulations.
• Achieve sales performance, brand KPIs, financial objectives, and marketing goals to meet or surpass set targets.
• Develop pre-call planning objectives and conduct post-call evaluations to enhance sales performance consistently.
• Skillfully address objections, misunderstandings, and concerns, consistently leading to logical and reasonable calls to action to finalize every sales interaction.
• Actively and continuously strive to meet customer needs, expectations, and challenges to forge trusted relationships and reach mutually beneficial agreements between AbbVie and its customers.
• Create and implement a call plan that meets established metrics while optimizing coverage and frequency with key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
• Continuously enhance understanding of customer needs and expectations, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments/dynamics, accounts, disease states, products, clinical insights, and sales expertise, sharing this market intelligence with the in-field team, brand team, and sales manager to ensure alignment and anticipate environmental changes and challenges, thereby optimizing brand strategy and execution.
• Distinguish AbbVie’s value proposition among assigned health providers, identifying, developing, and maintaining disease state experts and speakers/advocates to enhance brand performance.
• A bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred; alternatively, relevant and equivalent industry experience is required.
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry experience is required if a bachelor’s degree is not held, including at least three (3) years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry, along with a high school diploma/GED.
• Demonstrates comprehensive scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge, recognized as an expert resource by all relevant stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen and proficient in using business tools; possesses strategic and critical thinking abilities.
• Proactively recognizes customer styles/behaviors and swiftly adapts all aspects of the selling approach.
• Understands and utilizes findings to formulate effective sales strategies.
• Proposes innovative ideas and solutions to maximize business opportunities and address challenges.
• Contributes impactful ideas for the broader organization and anticipates and reacts to changes.
• Functions effectively within a matrix environment.
• Influences peers and is regarded as a credible and respected role model and resource.
• Establishes collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and the matrix team.
• Leads by example; consistently demonstrates positive behaviors and provides peer coaching through evolving and challenging circumstances.
• Proven success in leadership and support roles with increased responsibilities at district, regional, and/or organizational levels.
• Preferred: Documented success in sales performance within specific therapeutic areas.
• Experience in the commercial pharmaceutical industry, including physician/account-based selling, training, managed healthcare, or marketing is preferred.
• Proficiency in the English language, both verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries).
