Specialty Biller and Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Address disputed claims by collecting, verifying, supplying additional information, and following up on claims.

• Rectify discrepancies by reviewing and assessing data and determining corrective actions.

• Ensure operational continuity by adhering to policies and procedures while reporting compliance issues.

• Uphold quality outcomes by adhering to company standards.

• Enhance job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and staying updated on Medicaid/Medicare billing and reimbursement practices.

• Execute additional assigned tasks.

• Collect and report claim information.

• Address utilization issues effectively.

• Collaborate efficiently with medical staff and external organizations.

• Identify, assess, and resolve claim-related issues.

• Interact courteously and professionally with both internal and external clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma is required.

• At least two years of experience in medical office billing procedures.

• Required knowledge and understanding of Physician E&M billing and coding.

• Familiarity with clinic policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of third-party payers, Medicare, Medicaid billing and collections, as well as HCPC, CPT, and ICD-9 coding.

• Proficiency in computer systems, programs, data entry, and spreadsheet applications.

• Understanding of medical terminology and information analysis.

• Awareness of collection practices.

• Familiarity with governmental, legal, and regulatory provisions related to collection activities.

• Skills in gathering and reporting claim information.

• Proficiency in resolving utilization issues.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with customer relations abilities.

• Competence in using Windows-based software systems.

• Ability to work effectively with medical staff and external agencies.

• Capability to identify, analyze, and address claim issues.

• Ability to interact courteously and professionally with internal and external customers.

• Billing Certification is preferred.

• Certified Coder designation is preferred.
