This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver legally compliant specially designed instruction (SDI) and provide compensatory education services when necessary to students with active Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Create and implement data-driven, individualized lesson plans aimed at enhancing critical skill areas such as reading and literacy development, foundational math skills and intervention, executive functioning and organizational strategies, and functional and adaptive life skills.
• Take ownership of the development, management, and ongoing monitoring of student IEPs, including full case management duties.
• Collaborate strategically with the student’s IEP team to coordinate service schedules and customize instructional methods to meet unique student needs.
• Administer screenings, conduct progress monitoring, and perform formal outcomes assessments to inform instructional decisions.
• Foster a structured, positive, and highly engaging virtual learning environment.
• Effectively apply evidence-based classroom and behavior management strategies during remote sessions.
• Implement various proactive behavior supports, including de-escalation strategies, visual aids, reinforcement systems, and clear routines to enhance student engagement and success.
• Systematically track and collect comprehensive data related to academic, behavioral, and functional IEP goals to document student progress.
• An active Special Education teaching license or certification.
• Proven expertise in delivering specially designed instruction and effectively engaging with diverse student populations in educational environments.
• Strong knowledge of systematic, explicit phonics-based programs (e.g., Orton Gillingham or Wilson methodologies preferred).
• Foundational understanding of neuropsychological principles as they relate to education and learning differences.
• Outstanding collaborative communication skills for engaging with IEP teams, including teachers, parents, and students.
• Proficiency in providing virtual services through meeting platforms and a strong command of instructional technology.
• A dedicated, private workspace equipped with a secure, high-speed internet connection, a reliable computer, and a webcam.
• Availability during traditional school hours (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) and weekdays (Monday-Friday) is required.
• A commitment to a minimum availability of 10 hours per week is highly preferred.
• Fluency in additional languages is a significant advantage.
