Specialist Case Manager – Catastrophic, Spinal, Brain Injury

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and comprehend the specific needs of an injured individual while utilizing your clinical and professional expertise to facilitate optimal recovery.

• Proactively oversee a caseload of rehabilitation clients or those requiring intricate care, managing the process from referral and assessment to active case management and closure.

• Instruct, coordinate, and advance multi-disciplinary interventions with the client at the core of the process.

• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including solicitors and insurers, to secure funding for private and supplementary interventions.

• Take responsibility for assessing and formulating rehabilitation or care packages for clients, ensuring stakeholder agreement or funding is obtained.

• Maintain consistent communication with the rehabilitation client, case stakeholders, and clinicians, ensuring all case records are precise and up to date.

• Accurately request, agree upon, and manage allocated funds for rehabilitation or care for each case, reviewing treatment invoices and monitoring overall case expenditure.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of clinical experience in neurological and complex orthopedic rehabilitation, including spinal cord injury.

• A fundamental understanding of funding for rehabilitation or complex care following injury, including CHC funding, private funding, insurer funding, or post-settlement funding agreements.

• Knowledge of GDPR, safeguarding, and capacity issues.

• Previous case management experience within the NHS and/or personal injury sector (Desirable).

• Enhanced experience or understanding of rehabilitation and care needs for individuals with complex injuries (Desirable).

• Knowledge of statutory service provisions for individuals with life-altering injuries (Desirable).

• Awareness of NICE guidelines pertaining to neurological injuries.

• Familiarity with The Rehabilitation Code.

• Exceptional written communication skills: ability to produce extensive reports, maintain attention to detail, and engage in professional email correspondence.

• Capacity to perform holistic assessments and develop clinically sound recommendations for interventions.

• Ability to direct and coordinate a diverse array of services to achieve effective outcomes.

• Skill in persuading and influencing stakeholders through sound clinical judgment and reasoning.

• Willingness to travel to hospitals, residential facilities, and clinic locations using personal transport or public transportation.

• Qualification in nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or another relevant clinical qualification.

• Active registration with HCPC, NMC, or a relevant professional body.

• Current registration with CMSUK, IRCM, BABICM, or related sector registrations (Desirable).
