Special Education Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Utah.

📋 Description

• Manage instructional programs tailored for students with special needs in a virtual setting.

• Participate in regular teaching and consultations with both students and learning coaches.

• Engage in all aspects of the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process.

• Collaborate closely with fellow educators and district professionals to ensure compliance.

• Provide instructional direction, virtual teaching, and general educational strategies.

• Develop, draft, and assist in the implementation of IEPs.

• Assess tests and evaluations, and complete report cards and progress reports.

• Maintain regular communication with parents and learning coaches of students with special needs.

• Consult with teachers and oversee the execution of specially tailored instruction.

• Deliver direct services to students, including those provided through web conferencing.

• Schedule, organize, and facilitate IEP-related meetings in a virtual context.

• Contribute to the school's Student Support Team; assist with program modifications and strategies.

• Keep accurate and current data in the Learning Management System.

⛳️ Requirements

• A degree in Special Education or a related educational field (SPED).

• A current teaching license in Utah.

• Preference will be given to candidates residing in Utah.

• Experience with policy (IDEA) and/or administration in Special Education.

• Proficient technology skills (especially with Google applications).

• Exceptional communication abilities, both verbal and written.

• A customer-focused attitude.

• High level of adaptability and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

• Proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• A history of being a cooperative team player.

• Willingness to occasionally travel overnight for school and state testing events.

• Must possess a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.
