
Spanish Translator – Legal Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.
• Translate legal documents, correspondence, intake forms, case materials, and client communications between English and Spanish.
• Review translated content for grammar, accuracy, tone, and consistency.
• Ensure that all translations retain the original meaning, context, and legal intent.
• Keep organized records of translated documents and bilingual communications.
• Provide phone, virtual, and occasional in-person interpretation support for attorneys and Spanish-speaking clients during consultations, meetings, depositions, hearings, and case-related discussions.
• Assist with the intake of Spanish-speaking clients, follow-ups, and ongoing communications.
• Aid clients in comprehending legal processes, documentation, and subsequent steps in a clear, professional, and neutral manner.
• Maintain a calm, respectful, and client-focused approach when interacting with clients.
• Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and legal staff to facilitate case preparation and client relations.
• Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism in all translated and interpreted materials.
• Assist with administrative tasks related to bilingual client services as necessary.
• Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and care.
• Full fluency in both spoken and written English and Spanish is essential.
• Prior experience in legal translation, interpretation, or bilingual legal support is desirable.
• A solid understanding of legal terminology in both English and Spanish is preferred.
• Excellent grammar, proofreading, listening, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines.
• Capability to manage confidential and sensitive information professionally.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple requests efficiently.
• Professional demeanor and a robust client-service orientation.
• Certification in translation or interpretation is advantageous.
• An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred, although relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience within a law firm, legal clinic, personal injury firm, or professional services environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with personal injury, workers’ compensation, immigration, family law, civil litigation, or related legal terminology is advantageous.
• Experience with case management software is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and remote communication tools is preferred.
