Spanish OPI/VRI Medical Interpretation

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nicaragua, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Professionally handle incoming calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific terminology relevant to the industry you are interpreting for, particularly in healthcare and medical fields, with training provided.

• Accurately and completely convey messages without adding, omitting, or altering any information.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and thorough interpretations of messages.

• Uphold professional standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader regularly.

• Adhere to dress code standards for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language (Spanish).

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, though not required.

• A solid understanding of medical terminology is a plus, but not essential.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and respect for diverse cultures.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities.
