Spanish OPI-VRI Medical Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Costa Rica, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical fields - training will be provided.

• Accurately and completely convey all messages without adding, omitting, or altering any content.

• Deliver the highest standard of customer service while interpreting.

• Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by providing precise and comprehensive interpretations.

• Adhere to established standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training sessions.

• Demonstrate a willingness to obtain new professional certifications.

• Communicate and report to your team leader effectively.

• Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Spanish".

• At least 1 year of experience in telephone interpretation within a reputable interpretation company is advantageous, but not essential.

• Good understanding of medical terminology is a plus, though not mandatory.

• Familiarity with legal terminology is beneficial.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are a plus (such as PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Strong emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.

• Excellent communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
