Sourcing Manager, Electrical Equipment

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Responsible for the procurement of electrical equipment for Data Centers located in North America.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, Project Management, and Finance to ensure procurement aligns with design specifications, budget constraints, and site requirements.

• Formulate category strategies, seek out new suppliers, and manage RFPs/RFQs for major electrical components including Substations, Generators, Switchgear, Transformers, UPS, Static Transfer Switches, PDUs, and Busway.

• Conduct lead commercial negotiations regarding pricing, terms, and agreements (MSAs) to achieve cost reductions and favorable conditions.

• Analyze supplier proposals, prepare comparative assessments, and conduct cost evaluations.

• Supervise the equipment lifecycle from initial design and specifications through to delivery, installation, and commissioning, ensuring adherence to compliance and quality standards.

• Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers who can offer advantageous pricing or lead times for projects.

• Report supplier performance issues to Procurement and Development leadership when necessary.

• Foster robust supplier relationships, monitor their performance, conduct business reviews, and manage supplier risk effectively.

• Generate Purchase Orders as needed.

• Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to address invoice discrepancies as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Over 7 years of procurement experience, with a minimum of 3 years specifically in data center electrical equipment.

• Extensive knowledge of data center electrical systems, including High Voltage (Substations), Medium Voltage, and Low Voltage systems.

• Strong skills in procurement, sourcing, and negotiation.

• Proficient understanding of complex Bid Analysis and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

• Exceptional abilities in relationship management, communication, and project management.

• Proficient in procurement software and ERP systems.

• Experience in procurement within Data Center construction.
