Solutions Engineer – SS7 Signalling, IP Routing

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design and set up signaling, DRA/DEA routing, peers, connections, realms, Diameter identities, and associated GT and point-code mappings.

• Convert IR.21/RAEX inputs into precise, version-controlled operational configurations.

• Strategize interconnect IP addressing and manage DNS/ENUM, APN, realm resolution, firewall/ACL, and IPX peering modifications.

• Take full responsibility for end-to-end IREG-side testing related to network registration, attach sequences, S6a/S6d/SGd authentication, SGd SMS, and NIDD when applicable.

• Examine Wireshark signaling traces and address failures across Skylo, IPX providers, and partner MNOs.

• Work in partnership with Skylo IPX partners and MNO IPX teams to pinpoint routing and configuration issues at the component level.

• Develop change-control, peer-review, rollback, and documentation procedures.

• Generate LLD (Low-Level Design) documents for each interconnection.

• Collaborate with internal Network Engineering, NOC, Security, and Product teams as well as external MNO technical teams throughout the go-live and stabilization phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of practical experience in mobile-core signaling, roaming interconnect, telecom solutions engineering, or network operations.

• Extensive technical knowledge of Diameter, including DRA/DEA configuration, realm routing, peer management, and S6a/S6d/SGd protocols.

• Strong understanding of IP interconnect fundamentals, encompassing DNS/ENUM, routing, security controls, and firewall/ACL coordination over IPX/GRX networks.

• Advanced skills in protocol analysis with the capability to interpret Wireshark traces for independent diagnosis of signaling failures.

• Demonstrated experience in converting complex IR.21/RAEX data into operational configurations and performing structured IREG validation.

• A systematic approach to change management, documentation, configuration integrity, and minimizing live production risks.

• Preferred: Experience with NB-IoT NTN, NIDD, MME registration troubleshooting, SS7/MAP, STP, or IoT roaming.

• Preferred: Practical experience with Signaling & IP configuration in Core network.

• Preferred: Experience in automation using Python, APIs, infrastructure as code, or network testing frameworks.
