This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.
• Serve as the leading technical representative for Tailscale in the APAC region, enhancing market visibility, establishing customer engagement frameworks, and shaping regional technical execution strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Account Executives to identify, qualify, design, and secure new commercial opportunities, effectively managing the regional pipeline to achieve and surpass quota targets.
• Facilitate discovery workshops, present customized product demonstrations, and oversee technical proofs of concept (POCs) that address technical objections and expedite sales cycles.
• Participate in direct R&D initiatives such as coding, developing custom tool integrations, and contributing fixes or new features back to Tailscale's core product to eliminate significant technical challenges for key regional clients.
• Document and synthesize essential field insights, architectural trends, and regional product requirements to offer structured feedback that guides product development, engineering, and go-to-market strategies.
• Create reusable demo environments, solution blueprints, technical whitepapers, and objection-handling documentation to enhance the global Solutions Engineering team.
• Collaborate with other customer-facing technical teams concurrently expanding in Singapore to ensure effective feedback loops and consistent service delivery, partnering to actively cultivate and reinforce Tailscale’s company culture in the region.
• 4-5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Solutions Architect, supporting high-growth networking, security, or enterprise cloud software platforms.
• Proven track record of successfully navigating ambiguity as an initial regional hire or functioning within an early-stage, high-growth startup environment where process development and individual accountability are essential.
• Strong grounding in networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls) along with troubleshooting expertise.
• In-depth understanding of zero-trust networking, secure connectivity, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) integrations (SSO, SAML, OIDC).
• Practical experience in designing, provisioning, or troubleshooting infrastructure within major cloud environments (AWS, GCP, and/or Azure) and container ecosystems (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Ability to convey technical narratives, linking architectural decisions directly to strategic customer and business outcomes, as well as executive value propositions.
• Outgoing communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, adept at collaborating seamlessly across fully distributed global engineering teams and regional sales units.
