Solutions Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Act as the comprehensive technical lead for integrations with external partners and merchants.

• Create integration workflows from the discovery phase through to development, launch, and ongoing support.

• Assist partner development teams, verify implementations, and ensure integrations operate smoothly in production.

• Attain in-depth knowledge of all available integrations, partner implementations, configurations, and their distinct features.

• Familiarize yourself with Koalafi products and platform architecture, including the application flow from origination to approval, checkout, and funding.

• Take ownership of new integrations throughout the phases of discovery, development, quality assurance, and release.

• Facilitate rollouts to new merchants and collaborate with sales to uncover engagement opportunities.

• Assess and prioritize issues submitted by partners using observability tools.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Sales to identify and execute integration improvements.

• Enhance internal processes and lead the implementation and acceptance of process enhancements.

• Craft communications for external partners regarding outages, essential changes, upgrades, and the adoption of new features.

• Establish and advocate for partner ticketing processes.

• Review manual processes for potential automation and error minimization.

• Maintain cross-functional meetings, internal and external documentation, and integration operating procedures.

• Expedite go-to-market initiatives without the need to write production code.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and prevalent integration patterns.

• Experience with e-commerce platforms (such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento) or POS systems is highly advantageous.

• Acquainted with software engineering principles and software architecture.

• Knowledge of at least one programming language, like GoLang, JavaScript, or Python.

• Proficient in writing SQL queries and utilizing troubleshooting tools like Elastic, Fullstory, and Postman.

• Willingness to utilize AI tools for initial triage and investigation tasks.

• Capability to convert complex technical concepts into language that is accessible to partners.

• Strong collaboration abilities across business, product, and engineering teams.

• Competent in working both independently and as part of a team while actively seeking feedback.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, inquisitive, and comfortable with uncertainty.

• Problem-solving skills to recognize process inefficiencies and translate partner challenges into technical solutions.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly for structured documentation or integration guides.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.

• 6+ years of experience in a technical, client-facing position such as Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect, Integration Engineer, or Technical Consultant.
