This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.
• Oversee all technical elements of the sales process, including product demonstrations, proof of concepts, and managing feature requests.
• Address RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs effectively.
• Collaborate with marketing to identify opportunities for enhancing product marketing materials to facilitate sales success.
• Act as a primary advocate for customer needs by relaying product feedback and feature requests to the product management team.
• Partner with Customer Success for post-sales engineering check-ins, ensuring high customer satisfaction rates, sharing new features and product roadmaps, and assisting customers with integration into their internal tools and systems.
• Work closely with the account team to achieve or surpass monthly, quarterly, and annual booking targets.
• Participate in trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
• Willingness to travel frequently (30%+), often with little notice, including regular onsite meetings with existing and potential customers.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a high-tech sales/solutions engineering or systems/network engineering position.
• Must reside in Japan.
• Proficient in both Japanese and English, with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Capable of engaging in technical discussions with a range of stakeholders from junior engineers to senior executives.
• Experience in managing Cisco/Juniper routers and Linux servers.
• Strong comprehension of network and application protocols (e.g., Netflow, SNMP, BGP, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP) and their application in infrastructure design and operations.
• Knowledge of DDoS attacks and fundamental mitigation strategies.
• Preferred: Previous experience selling to network and systems engineers and architects within Tier 1 and 2 carrier networks.
• Interest or background in security, performance, monitoring, and/or infrastructure sectors.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, Ansible, or Perl.
• Basic understanding of databases and/or SQL.
• Familiarity with open-source technologies like LibreNMS, Elastic, Grafana, and Prometheus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of one or more public cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
