Senior Solutions Architect – Airflow

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Facilitate architecture evaluations, workshops, and technical design discussions with engineering teams and executive stakeholders.

• Create comprehensive platform architectures that integrate Airflow with cloud infrastructure, computational frameworks, and data platforms.

• Assess delivery work to uphold high standards for scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence.

• Identify and resolve issues, assisting customers with deployments, migrations, and platform modernization.

• Develop reusable tools, frameworks, reference architectures, and best practices that enhance delivery quality across the organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, platform engineering, or solution architecture.

• Proficient in Airflow, including authoring and deploying Dags to production, monitoring execution, and troubleshooting failures.

• Experience in optimizing Airflow performance, refactoring Dag code, appropriately sizing infrastructure, and implementing data quality checks and alerts.

• Demonstrated success in guiding customers through platform deployments, migrations, or technical transformations, while managing scope, timelines, and stakeholder conflicts.

• Strong expertise in designing cloud-native data platforms on AWS, Azure, or GCP, with knowledge of enterprise networking, security, and identity patterns.

• Programming skills in Python and SQL.

• Knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, and Kubernetes.

• Familiarity with Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, or Redshift.

• Proven experience leading architecture discussions and influencing technical decisions alongside engineering leaders and executive stakeholders.

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities; capable of translating business requirements into scalable, production-ready architectures.
